I am a textile artist who transforms raw wool fibers into unique art using traditional wet felting techniques. Wet felting is the oldest known textile technique in the world, dating back 8000 years. It was used across Central Asia by nomadic cultures to craft sturdy clothing, boots, and even shelters like yurts. The technique uses water, heat, and friction to interlock loose animal fibers into a single piece of dense fabric.
The history of this technique is amazing, but the true magic of wet felting lies in its incredible versatility. By blending loose wool with silk or cotton, adding raw, curly locks, or experimenting with different animal breeds, I can completely transform the fabric's weight, drape, and texture.
Thank you for taking the time to experience my work—I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it.
